I am back with a shrimp fry this time..a complete Indian taste 🙂

Note: My 1 cup is 240 grams/ml, 1 tablespoon -15 grams/ml, 1 teaspoon-5 grams/ ml and 1 kg  is 2.2 pounds.

Medium sized peeled, deveined shrimp – 40 to 50 in number

Chilli powder -2 tablespoons

Chopped Red Onion- 1 medium sized

Green Chilli – 2

Grated coconut – 2 tablespoons

Crushed fresh garlic – 2 tablespoons

Crushed fresh ginger – 2 tablespoons

Curry leaves – few (optional )

Distilled white vinegar – 1 teaspoon

Coconut oil/ Oil of your choice – enough to fry the shrimp , I used up half a cup

Salt- as required

1.Mix the shrimp with turmeric powder, salt and chilli powder in a pan and add half cup water. Simmer on low flame  for few minutes till the shrimp is cooked.

2.While little bit of water still remains in the pan, add onion, green chilli, garlic, coconut, curry leaves and ginger. Saute till onion and coconut becomes soft.

3. Now add coconut oil ( or any oil of your choice ) and 1 teaspoon of distilled white vinegar and fry on medium heat till done.
