Very Easy and Truly yummy!!! Here we go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Note: My 1 cup is 240 grams/ml, 1 tablespoon -15 grams/ml, 1 teaspoon-5 grams/ ml and 1 kg is 2.2 pounds.
Besan (Chickpea flour) – 1 cup
Ghee (Indian clarified butter) – 1/4 cup
Fine Sugar/powdered sugar- 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder- 1/4 teaspoon
Cashew nuts- for garnishing
1.Heat a heavy bottom pan and add the ghee to it.
2.Once the ghee heats up , add the besan and stir continuously on low flame for 25-30 minutes. Make sure that you break the lumps and stir.
Initially the besan mixed with ghee will form crumbs texture and then slowly( takes atleast 15 minutes of continuous stirring to reach this consistency) will mix well to form a semi liquid.
After almost 25-30 minutes, the mix will be aromatic and would be brown in colour.
3. Transfer the mix to a plate and cool completely.
4.Once cooled, add sugar and cardamom powder and mix using hands (Dont knead, just mix).
5. Now take small quantities and roll it into balls using the palm of both your hands.
6. Garnish with cashew nuts and serve! As I say, I am not a fan of nuts , so I avoided it 😀
